WORKSHOPS
Their aim is to go through experience of creating art by putting things in test, learning and verifying them through trials, than accumulating knowledge through direct participation and observation. The word’s core comes from the Latin verb ‘experiri’ what combines ex- ( meaning out of or thoroughly) and per-i, related to try or to risk. I also carries meaning of experiment, proof and experience. English adopted ‘experience’ to signify both the observation as a source of knowledge and the actual event itself. At movement/dance workshops it is through bodily activity that mental concepts are verified, justified or questioned. We find that a concept of the thinking body covers aptly the dynamic interplay between theory and practice of the performing arts. Our workshop’s runner were mostly artists or scholar artists.
